Well my running shoes finally fell apart. I bought new shoes last winter in preparation for training for the half-marathon last summer. I was told at the time that they'd be good for about 300 miles, and they lasted significantly longer than that. Honestly I probably should have replaced them months ago, but I'm cheap and lazy. Unfortunately, they've been getting less comfortable for the last couple weeks and I noticed a more significant hole in them today than I was expecting.
So luckily I had ordered new shoes last night, but those won't arrive until Wednesday. That meant no running at the gym today. Might not be a bad idea though, I'd been feeling a little run-down and I had a bunch of different errands to do this evening (taxes, talking to Geek Chic to finalize the plans for my table, ordering a ticket to a show in Stratford when I'm there in May). So hopefully I'll be able to get to the gym on Wednesday, with my all new shoes.
Food today: breakfast was an egg and cheese sandwich with one of my sourdough rolls rather than an english muffin (400 calories), lunch was a turkey sandwich (500 calories), and dinner was home-made fish and chips (1200 calories, and a more complicated recipe as I don't have a deep fryer in the house anymore). No exercise on the day.
