So I've been putting off a cheat day for a while. Early on, I planned to do within a few weeks. Then I was pushing it off until after Thanksgiving...then Christmas...then New Year's. The most recent target date became "after my first team run" for the new Team Challenge season. Effectively that first run was today, so I decided to use my cheat day today as well.
So what makes a cheat day for me. It has less to do with the amount of calories that I ate, as it was the chance to indulge by going to a restaurant that I otherwise would avoid while on my diet. For today that meant 5 Guys. As I've mentioned before I had been going to 5 Guys a lot before starting the diet, and beyond any other factor I suspect that was a major reason my weight started creeping up.
The fact that thanks to the diet I can pretty much count the number of days since my last trip did start to make me sound like an addict when talking to people about the burgers. So I still had positive points for today, but I indulged my "addiction" as well. Now if I can make another 80 days without going back I may be able to make this diet work.
Food today: breakfast sandwich with milk (300 calories), a little granola bar after running (70 calories), a cheeseburger and large fry with diet soda at 5 Guys (2200 calories). No dinner as the lunch was late enough, and large enough to last the day. Exercise was about 4.5 miles at Carson Beach (500 calories).
