One obvious thing to remember when exercising is the advantage of having sufficient water. As I've stretched out the distance on running I've generally satisfied myself with getting a drink of water before and then after the run. Today I actually thought to bring along a water bottle to the gym with me, and there was a noticeable difference. I didn't get worn out as fast, and was able to run for a lot longer without thinking about the difference in time. I also stretched the time by another 5 minutes, bringing my total to 55 minutes of running with 5 minutes of cool down.
It's an obvious sort of thing to do but the change provides enough of an advantage to make it worthwhile. Now I just need to add a water bottle to my usual gym equipment and keep stretching out the distances. I have a half-marathon to do in June after all.
Food today: was feeling crappy so I slept late this morning, that meant breakfast and lunch became one meal, an egg and cheese sandwich (300 calories). Later in the day I had just a random slice of cheese as a snack (100 calories). Penne, sauce and garlic toast was dinner (1000 calories). Exercise was an hour on the treadmill (816 calories).
