So kickboxing is definitely not like riding a bike. After taking six months off I got back to it tonight. Needless to say I'm a little sore right now. Now part of my issue is probably that I went running first. Since running is my primary training activity I didn't want to hijack what was working. Instead I ran a slightly shorter distance but added the hour long kickboxing class at the end. Kickboxing is definitely worth it. More than anything else it provides some strength training where I have very little in the current plan. In a week or two I'll probably be fine, but right now I want to collapse.
Otherwise the day was fairly conventional. A bit too much candy with snacking, but nothing too terrible. Lunch was also non-standard because I had left over pizza strips from a weekend party. I brought the box into work so other people could eat most of them, but I had three strips myself. In general though it was a pretty successful day. As before I'm assigning an estimate of calories burned for kickboxing that is probably low but works as a default value.
Food today: egg and cheese for breakfast (300 calories), three pizza strips for lunch (600 calories), snacks included candy (250 calories) and a piece of toast and a little peanut butter before exercise (200 calories), dinner was a cheeseburger (700 calories). Exercise was a lunch time walk (100 calories), 40 minutes of running (700 calories) and an hour of kickboxing (500 calories).
