So I'm going to be running a half-marathon on May 5, and that's what the immediate training is preparing for. Today was a 9 mile run.

Following up on last week's successful 8 mile run this week I actually did a little better. One possible positive element may have been the addition of a new Camelbak water pack. That meant I had water throughout the run rather than just at the beginning and end. I can't be certain it had any effect really, but last week I averaged a 9:24/mile pace and this week, even with the longer distance, I was at 9:16. The course isn't particularly challenging but when you're running 9 miles it doesn't exactly need to be.
Food today: egg and cheese (300 calories), lunch was carne asada steak and tortilla chips at a Mexican restaurant (1000 calories), snacks ended up being some popcorn at a play (400 calories) and dinner was a late english muffin with peanut butter (300 calories). Exercise was the 9 mile run (1400 calories).
