Day 55 - Getting Back To It

More diets have probably been killed by a disheartening cheat day than any other factor.  You give in, feed the craving and overeat.  Maybe it's those extra pieces of pie, or a bag of chips, or even just making a "special" meal at home that happens to include too much food.  Either way, the meal is over and now you're left thinking "well crap, there went the diet."  So the next day an opportunity to eat something else unhealthy comes along and it's that much easier to say, "You know what, I'll just restart the diet on Sunday" or words to that effect.

Of course by the time Sunday rolls around the diet's mostly a memory and your old habits are back.  Avoiding that sequence was what I was trying to deal with.  On the plus side, I was still kind of digesting yesterday's dinner which helped hold off the hunger.  So I stuck to my plan for today.  Small meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner with only a small additional unhealthy snack while watching a movie at work.  Then getting back to running in the evening.  Tomorrow's a nine mile run, so if I can stick to my guns it should get me fully back on track.  Probably didn't lose weight this week, may even have gained some back, but if I can get back into the healthy habits things should get back to normal.

Food today:  english muffin with peanut butter (300 calories), PB&J for lunch (500 calories), snacks were a small bag of chips and some peanut butter (250 calories), dinner was a grilled cheese (600 calories).  Exercise was an hour on the treadmill (1112 calories).
