So I missed another post yesterday. This is starting to become a habit again. I'll have to do something to keep on track. Otherwise the last two days have been fairly routine. Monday I took the evening off as a rest day and a chance to simply hang at home. Tuesday though I got back to the gym and ran for a bit. I've started the process of building my speed up to the next level again. Other than that I'm mostly just focused on avoiding any breakdowns or injuries before the run on Sunday.
Food Monday: egg and cheese (300 calories), turkey sandwich (500 calories), snacks were pretzels and some cheese (200 calories), dinner was steak, noodles and green beans (1000 calories). Exercise was a lunch time walk (100 calories).
Food Tuesday: egg and cheese (300 calories), turkey sandwich (500 calories), snacks were pretzels and some chips (300 calories), dinner was penne, sauce and garlic toast (700 calories). Exercise was a lunch time walk (100 calories) and an hour on the treadmill (1078 calories).

Day 77 - Mostly Recovered and A Rest Day
Well as the morning started I still wasn't feeling 100 percent. In that case though I think it had more to do with the leftover effects of yesterday's medication than any particular digestive issues. Even so today was kind of a mixture of rest day, and day off from focusing too much on the diet. I still ate sensibly, but I also went to the movies and had a lot of popcorn. It was a birthday celebration for my mom so my sister and I also took her out to a fancy pizza place afterwards (that's fancy for a pizza place, so realistically it's fanciness level was slightly higher than average). All in all it was a pretty relaxing day. The only downside was missing my now semi-traditional Sunday bike ride.
Food today: two scrambled eggs (200 calories), some turkey and cheese at the grocery store, and then some more later as a snack (400 calories total), popcorn (600 calories), and a half of a small meat lover's pizza (800 calories). No exercise on the day.

Day 76 - 12 Mile Run and a Slightly Disgusting Post
The title's just a bit of a warning about today's post. It's a little disgusting thanks to the events of the day. I apologize in advance but I need to rant about it somewhere.
So first the run. I did 12 miles on the bike path today in 1 hour and 50 minutes. So on the one hand, that seems to suggest I might be able to actually break the 2 hour mark at next week's race. On the other hand there was an extenuating circumstance that had me running 20 to 30 seconds faster per mile than I would normally have run. That's part of the disgusting part.
Even so, here's the run data if you're interested: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/303911600
Now the gross part. If you check the race data you can see my speed picks up quite a bit in the second half (particularly by the beginning of mile 8). There was a reason for that. I very badly needed to go to the bathroom for at least the last 50 minutes of the run. I've often said that one of the weird satisfying parts of running is that it shakes things up, and when I get home after a longish run there are few things as satisfying as a "post-run poop." Unfortunately for me, instead of kicking in at mile 10 or 11, the need to use the bathroom kicked in by mile 6. By mile 8 I was struggling with an overpowering need to go. That's why my second half splits look so good. When you're doing everything in your power not to poop, it's surprising how little you notice being tired.
Getting home at the end of the run was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately holding it in for an hour left me somewhat constipated. So instead of some of my plans for the day (grocery store, a movie or concert, maybe a Revs game), I spent the day either in bed or the bathroom. The only thing I ran out for was lunch, and because I needed a decent meal, and wanted to try and take my mind off everything I went to 5 Guys. Probably a mistake, but other than breakfast and a post-run fiber bar it was my only meal of the day. After hours, and a post lunch trip to the pharmacy for stool softener I seem to be most of the way to recovery. We'll see how I feel tomorrow. So that's my gross discussion. Hope I haven't revolted all of you.
Food today: egg and cheese (300 calories), granola bar (150 calories), 5 Guys cheeseburger and fries (2000 calories). Exercise was the 12 mile run (1888 calories according to an online calculator).

Days 74 and 75 - Blah Day Followed By Pretzel Day
So...I missed a post. Not too big a deal, but I did feel a little stupid just now when I signed in a saw that. So I'll throw a couple days worth of food into this post.
Yesterday was a "Blah Day." By the end of my day at work I was worn out and didn't feel like doing anything. I skipped both running and kickboxing as well. Missing a day isn't too big a deal, as long as it doesn't become a habit, but I still ended up feeling a little guilty about taking the time off. I've got 30 pounds to go to hit my stretch goal, and while a night off is probably healthy in the long term it makes me feel like I'm not accomplishing anything. Now old me would have also ordered pizza or something to make myself feel better (which would have just compounded the guilt afterwards). New me made a slightly larger portion size than needed but largely kept to the diet.
On the other hand the night off did leave me feeling a lot better. I went to bed a little early, got a full night's sleep, and was a bit more energized today. Today was also Pretzel Day at work, and the employee association bought the big pretzels and made them available. It was fun, and while I ended up having two of them today it wasn't too unhealthy. I also felt up to going to the gym after work and had a pretty good run without any of the soreness that's become somewhat standard at the end of the week. As I said, the night off was probably healthy long term, but left me a little bummed at the time I decided it.
Food Thursday: egg and cheese (300 calories), turkey sandwich (500 calories), slice of cheese (100 calories), larger size penne, sauce and garlic toast (1000 calories). Exercise was a lunch time walk (100 calories).
Food Today: egg and cheese (300 calories), Subway meatball sub with chips (750 calories), 2 big pretzels (360 calories), smaller penne, sauce and garlic toast (700 calories). Exercise was an hour on the treadmill (1083 calories).

Day 73 - Another Routine Day
Just a quick post today. I'm tired and nothing major happened. It was a rest day during the week so no running tonight either. All in all a fairly routine day. The only unusual thing that happened today was a weird reaction to some chocolate. I've cut back on both caffeine and candy of late, so after grabbing a couple little peanut butter cups today I was shocked at how suddenly energized I was. That was then followed up by a crash about a half-hour later. Not surprising really, but not something I've really experienced in years. Can't decide if it's a good sign or not.
Food today: egg and cheese (300 calories), turkey sandwich (500 calories), dinner was pork loin, rice and green beans (900 calories), and snacks were a couple slices of cheese and some candy (250 calories). Exercise was a lunch time walk (100 calories).

Day 72 - Avoiding the Rain
There are a couple advantages to running on the treadmill. It keeps the pace and time for you. There's TV to distract from the exercise. Probably the most important though is that it's inside. So on a cold, rainy spring day I didn't have to go for a run on the bike path and could run someplace dry (or more honestly, I didn't have an excuse to skip running). There's are negatives to running on the treadmill as well of course. It's artificial. You're paying to run which is something you can do for free. You have to share the equipment with strangers. The one I noticed today however is that it is also very easy to talk yourself into scaling back your planned runs.
If I'm running on the bike path I have to keep running until I get back to my starting point. So if I run out 3 miles, I know I have to do 3 miles back. On the treadmill if you start to get tired halfway through you have the ability to just stop. I was very tempted today at the 35 minute mark of my hour long run. Fortunately I was able to push through it, but when running outdoors I wouldn't have had the choice. I could slow down, but in the end I still need to get back to the start. It's an interesting aspect to running outdoors, particularly since it's always the last couple miles that are the toughest.

Day 71 - Team Challenge
I got into running because of Team Challenge (http://www.ccteamchallenge.org/). Before I signed up for that first half-marathon program, running was something other people did. Admittedly that first half-marathon wasn't particularly fast but I did it. It laid the foundation for the weight loss, running and everything else I've accomplished in the last couple years. Tonight was a fundraiser to support TC, and it was a chance to once more get to see everyone from the team. The difference between training alone and training with TC are the people. These are folks who, as corny as it is, have become my friends and are the reason I was able to keep going when things got tough. So if anyone reads this who has been looking for something to start their way to a healthy lifestyle, give Team Challenge a try, it's great for you and helps to find a cure for Crohn's disease.
Food today: egg and cheese (300 calories), turkey sandwich (500 calories), snack was some peanut butter before running (100 calories), dinner was a cheeseburger and fries (1300 calories). Exercise was a lunch time walk (100 calories) and an hour on the treadmill (1138 calories).

Day 70 - No Rest Day
Last week I'd planned to use Sunday as a recovery day after the long run. This week I knew there was no chance that I'd be doing that. Plenty of my hobbies involve sedentary activity. Even so, I just can't take a full day of doing "nothing" anymore. A whole day in the house leaves me a little antsy. So today I knew I was taking the bike ride. I did the same route as last week, but added an extra couple blocks to hit the 16 mile mark even. 16 miles in 80 minutes is a decent clip with my mountain bike. More importantly I was trying to get some light exercise and just keep active for the day. Admittedly the rest of my day was a little dull but I at least had some activity.
Food today: egg and cheese (300 calories), roast beef sandwich (500 calories), dinner was a grilled cheese sandwich (600 calories), and snacks were some peanut butter and a slice of turkey (300 calories). Exercise was the bike ride (800 calories).

Day 69 - 11 Miles on the Treadmill
So yesterday morning started out with some pretty steady rain. So I chickened out and went to the gym for my long run instead of the bike path. Running a long distance on the treadmill is a very different experience. In a lot of ways it's easier (no risk of tripping, TV to watch while you run, a steady pace maintained by the machine). On the other hand you are running in place for most of two hours. That gets dull even with multiple distractions. The other problem at a gym is that the machines usually have timers. Mine had a maximum time of an hour which meant at the hour mark I had to stop it, run in place a bit while I reentered the info and then start up again. A little irritating but I'm going to say it simulated stopping to cross a busy street. One nice discovery was that I learned I could actually make use of my Kindle at the gym. May make running there work a bit better on days when the TV is boring.
Food for the day went a little high: egg and cheese for breakfast (300 calories), roast beef sandwich for lunch (500 calories), dinner though was pizza with friends and I ate a little too much (1600 calories). Exercise was the 11 miles on the treadmill (1943 calories according to the machine).

Day 68 - Mild Cheat Day
So I forgot to do my post yesterday. No excuse other than getting distracted towards the end of the night. Yesterday was pretty straightforward. We had a smoothie break organized by the wellness committee at work. Working on that made a nice change of pace, even if I didn't end up having a smoothie myself (had eaten lunch just before). After work though I decided on two things. The first was to skip running for the day since I knew I had the 11-miler today. The second was a craving for fish and chips. I ended up going to a fish place for dinner and got fish and chips and some clam cakes. All in all it was a pretty nice night. The downside was that the points were a little low.

Day 67 - Average Day With Exercise
Today was mostly an average Thursday. A couple minor changes meant that I didn't score as many points as I could have but still had a more than respectable result for the day. I decided I wanted to buy lunch today, which resulted in a trip to Subway (and a bag of chips at lunch that added excess calories). Since today's exercise plan was some sprint training followed by kickboxing I also had a per-exercise snack of toast with peanut butter. Again, not really a big deal but it turned into some extra calories. Over the long run (both metaphorically, and also my plan to continue long runs) a few hundred extra calories here and there aren't a big deal, particularly if they correspond with exercise. On the other hand, there's still a part of me that feels bad any time I exceed 2000 calories in a day of food.
Food today: egg and cheese for breakfast (300 calories), meatball sub with chips for lunch (750 calories), snack was toast with peanut butter (300 calories), dinner was penne, sauce and garlic toast (800 calories today, as a little extra penne ended up in the pot). Day 66 - Improving Weather
Well for the last month or so I've been running outdoors and that has taken me out from running at the gym. Now that the spring weather is really kicking in that's turned out to be a pretty pleasant place for exercise. Running alone is still not as much fun as running with other people though. The difference between my weekday runs with friends and my long run on Saturday by myself is night and day. Nice weather helps that a bit (if Saturday's a little warmer I wouldn't mind) but at the end of the day two hours running with nothing other than music to keep me company ends up being boring.
Food today: egg and cheese (300 calories), turkey sandwich (500 calories),snacks are a little high with a granola bar, some peanut butter and a slice of cheese during the day (350 calories), dinner was penne, sauce and garlic toast (700 calories). Exercise was a lunchtime walk (100 calories).

Day 64 - Boston
For the last year or so my take on running has varied between it "being a pain in the butt, still got to do it" all the way up to "hey this is kind of fun, but now I'm tired." It goes back and forth for me but usually falls between those extremes. For some of my friends though running is their thing. It's what they love to do, and they work hard to do it well.
For those friends the Boston Marathon is a goal and a dream. Everyone agrees that there is simply no other race in the world quite like it. Earning the qualifications to run the race is something that they spend years doing, and even more time working to maintain. Today someone didn't just attack the race, they attacked all of the people who have spent so much of their lives getting into a position just to run this one race. Some of the participants may have planned to never run another marathon. For others this was their latest race, but also the biggest. Now, whenever they look back on this magnificent accomplishment they will also have to look back on the tragedy of the day.
My friends who were running, and those who were just there to cheer the runners on, all escaped without injury. Too many other people didn't. I can only hope that those who have been injured are able to recover. I wish I had a pithy comment that sums up my feelings on this whole thing, but I haven't figured out what they are yet.
Food today: egg and cheese (300 calories), turkey sandwich (500 calories), snacks were a small bag of chips (200 calories) at lunch and a piece of toast with peanut butter (200 calories) before exercise, dinner was penne, sauce and a slice of garlic toast (700 calories).
Day 63 - "Rest" Days
I've almost certainly commented on this sort of thing before, but today was a prime example so it comes up again. Back in my days as a lazy slug an unscheduled day would likely have been spent watching TV, playing video games and/or going out to someplace unhealthy for a meal. Today started off a little like that, sleeping late, but once I was up I was bouncing around looking for something to do, and before long I was grabbing the bike and going for a ride. Perhaps most importantly, looking for something to do translated into an exercise-centric activity. In the past even if I was feeling like I had to go out, that still would have meant a trip to the movies, or a bookstore or other low-activity options.
Sleeping late at least had the benefit of reducing the temptation to go back to 5 Guys or order pizza or something (since "breakfast" occurred at lunch-time). Even so the biggest change in my life has been the fact that I consider exercise as an activity to do. Running was out for the day, as I wanted today to at least partially serve as recovery from yesterday's run. A 16 mile bike ride ended up as a compromise with myself, because I really kind of wanted to go run. A bike ride is reasonable cross-training for running, and didn't put the kind of pressure on my legs that running would have.
I'm still not certain I actually like exercise, but it does seem to have become a habit. In the end that's probably the most important characteristic.
For anyone interested, here's today's bike ride: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/298075415
Food today: egg and cheese for "breakfast" (300 calories), snacks included some peanut butter and a slice of cheese (200 calories), dinner was the reduced portion penne, sauce and garlic toast (700 calories). Exercise was the bike ride (800 calories, but this is kind of a guess the online estimates are all over the place for cycling).

Day 62 - Cheat Day Despite The 10-Miler
So the positive results first. Today was my 10-mile run for my training and that worked out quite well. There's a definite difference between 9 and 10 miles that you can feel, but in the end I kept up the time I wanted. You can see the run here:
http://connect.garmin.com/activity/297177026
So 10 miles of running is an awesome accomplishment, but I also decided to turn today into a 5-Guys day, my first in a while. Even that wouldn't have been that bad, but I forgot I was going out to a pub trivia night tonight which included some additional food. All in all it added up quite a bit. So I ran 10 miles today but I probably blew most of the accomplishment as far as the diet went by eating too much.
Food today: breakfast was a little larger than normal, scrambled eggs with some light toast and peanut butter (600 calories), lunch was 5 Guys (2000 calories), snacks at the pub night was "dinner" (500 calories). Exercise was a 10 mile run (1400 calories).

Day 62 - Average Day
Today was mostly average. On the positive side, despite going out to lunch with friends I still managed to keep my calories within my normal targets. The negative side was that by the end of the day I was a tad sore and had to cut my exercise a bit short. Instead of the 6+ miles on the treadmill I'd planned I only did a little more than 3 miles. Otherwise nothing too major on the day.
Food today: egg and cheese for both breakfast and dinner (300 calories each), lunch was a cheeseburger and fries (1300 calories), snacks were a little peanut butter and a slice of cheese (200 calories). Exercise was a half-hour on the treadmill (550 calories).

Day 61 - Differing Endurance
Ask me to run 10 miles and I'll do it with no major problems (though perhaps a tiny bit of whining). Ask me to spend 15 minutes punching something and I want to collapse. It's obvious, of course, that different kinds of exercise require different kinds of endurance but it's shocking to see how different that really is. I've started to define myself as a runner, which makes sense now that I consider training for a half-marathon an activity to do on a weekend instead of a once-in-a-lifetime event. I really don't worry about running for a couple hours as long as I've trained myself up to that point.
However running alone really does leave a wide array of other exercises completely untrained. I've got very little upper-body strength, and I'm not really that flexible. Obviously that's why I'm cross-training. My friend even pointed out today that some of the soreness I feel is partially related to my need to do more strength training as my muscles haven't worked this hard running before. It can feel disheartening to be good at one exercise, and miserable at another but that's not a reason to give up. Six months ago I still wasn't good at kickboxing but I was reasonable. I will get better as long as I keep at it, so I just have to not quit.

Day 60 - 100 K weigh-in
So today was the 100K weigh-in. It's a little disappointing only in that when I weighed myself on Saturday I weighed a bit less than I did today. No real explanation for it but still disheartening to see my weight shifting like this. Even so, long term the trend continues to go down.
100 K weight: 215 pounds
Nothing else really significant happened today. I cut a bit of noodles out of the portion I make with my non-pasta dinners. So I'll be accruing points a little faster. The downside is that lately I've been snacking a bit more than necessary so I'll need to stop that. All in all though the next 100K shouldn't be too hard to accomplish.
Food today: egg and cheese for breakfast (300 calories), turkey sandwich for lunch (500 calories), dinner was a small grilled chicken breast, some noodles and green beans (700 calories), snacks were candy and some peanut butter (300 calories). Exercise was a lunch time walk (100 calories).

Day 59 - Sprinting
When I run it's at pretty much the same pace regardless of distance. A 5K, 10K and Half-marathon usually have essentially similar splits. Today though my friend wanted to work on speed training and sprinting, and I couldn't come up with a good reason not to <grin>. So instead of the normal 4 mile run or so we instead sprinted for 100 meter intervals and covered about a half-mile or so, with a couple short distance jogs as well (maybe another mile and a half). Sprinting does not feel nearly as fun as "regular" running. My legs got sore quickly, I didn't enjoy myself as much, and I felt like I accomplished less than I should have. On the other hand, I think I felt the same when I started doing distance running. At the very least, if we keep this up I expect I'll start getting better at it.
Food today: egg and cheese (300 calories), roast beef sandwich (500 calories), candy (250 calories), and the small portion of penne, sauce and garlic toast (700 calories). Exercise was a lunch time walk (100 calories), and the sprints and jogs after work (400 calories).

Day 58 - Back to Kickboxing
So kickboxing is definitely not like riding a bike. After taking six months off I got back to it tonight. Needless to say I'm a little sore right now. Now part of my issue is probably that I went running first. Since running is my primary training activity I didn't want to hijack what was working. Instead I ran a slightly shorter distance but added the hour long kickboxing class at the end. Kickboxing is definitely worth it. More than anything else it provides some strength training where I have very little in the current plan. In a week or two I'll probably be fine, but right now I want to collapse.
Otherwise the day was fairly conventional. A bit too much candy with snacking, but nothing too terrible. Lunch was also non-standard because I had left over pizza strips from a weekend party. I brought the box into work so other people could eat most of them, but I had three strips myself. In general though it was a pretty successful day. As before I'm assigning an estimate of calories burned for kickboxing that is probably low but works as a default value.

Day 57 - Portion Control
Today was a rest day from exercise. On the other hand I decided to do a little experiment with some portion control today. My normal pasta meal is two cups of whole-wheat penne, a cup of sauce, and two slices of garlic toast. That adds up to approximately 1000 calories worth of food. It's not an unhealthy amount exactly but it is a very crowded plateful. Today I decided to cut that total down a bit, going to a cup and a half of penne, 2/3rds of a cup of sauce and one slice of garlic toast. It was noticeably smaller as a total quantity of food, but still a satisfying dinner. More importantly that slight difference translates to approximately 300 calories (based on the serving sizes reported on the boxes).
I'm not good at portion control. If it's food I like and it's in front of me then I will eat it. Getting better at deciding the precise amount of what I cook could be a key to reaching my stretch goal weight (180 pounds). Other meals I make don't translate to lower portion sizes as nicely, but as the week progresses I'm going to try cutting back those meals a bit as well. We'll see how it works.
Food today: toast with the last of the peanut butter (300 calories), a roast beef sandwich for lunch (500 calories), snacks were actually deli samples at the supermarket (200 calories), dinner was the smaller penne, sauce and garlic toast (700 calories).

Day 56 - Nine Miler
So I'm going to be running a half-marathon on May 5, and that's what the immediate training is preparing for. Today was a 9 mile run.
http://connect.garmin.com/activity/293891841
Following up on last week's successful 8 mile run this week I actually did a little better. One possible positive element may have been the addition of a new Camelbak water pack. That meant I had water throughout the run rather than just at the beginning and end. I can't be certain it had any effect really, but last week I averaged a 9:24/mile pace and this week, even with the longer distance, I was at 9:16. The course isn't particularly challenging but when you're running 9 miles it doesn't exactly need to be.
Food today: egg and cheese (300 calories), lunch was carne asada steak and tortilla chips at a Mexican restaurant (1000 calories), snacks ended up being some popcorn at a play (400 calories) and dinner was a late english muffin with peanut butter (300 calories). Day 55 - Getting Back To It
More diets have probably been killed by a disheartening cheat day than any other factor. You give in, feed the craving and overeat. Maybe it's those extra pieces of pie, or a bag of chips, or even just making a "special" meal at home that happens to include too much food. Either way, the meal is over and now you're left thinking "well crap, there went the diet." So the next day an opportunity to eat something else unhealthy comes along and it's that much easier to say, "You know what, I'll just restart the diet on Sunday" or words to that effect.
Of course by the time Sunday rolls around the diet's mostly a memory and your old habits are back. Avoiding that sequence was what I was trying to deal with. On the plus side, I was still kind of digesting yesterday's dinner which helped hold off the hunger. So I stuck to my plan for today. Small meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner with only a small additional unhealthy snack while watching a movie at work. Then getting back to running in the evening. Tomorrow's a nine mile run, so if I can stick to my guns it should get me fully back on track. Probably didn't lose weight this week, may even have gained some back, but if I can get back into the healthy habits things should get back to normal.
Food today: english muffin with peanut butter (300 calories), PB&J for lunch (500 calories), snacks were a small bag of chips and some peanut butter (250 calories), dinner was a grilled cheese (600 calories). Exercise was an hour on the treadmill (1112 calories).

Day 54 - Unplanned Cheating
So today did not go well. It started out going exactly as planned, but inexplicably on my way home from running I gave into an impulse and went to Wendy's and bought way too much food. I have no excuse, and there were plenty of outs on the way there, I just didn't take them. The only positive to be taken from my cheat is that I avoided buying soda to go with the large quantity of junk food I bought. As always I kind of hated myself afterwards as well.
So what does this mean for the diet? Nothing long term, or so I hope. Maybe I'll push back my semi-planned cheat day after I clear 100K. Maybe tomorrow I'll try and eat a smaller than normal load of food to make up for it. What's clear though is that my old impulses haven't changed completely. I should be better than this, but I am just not and every so often something sneaks through. So what this probably did do is waste a couple days of weight loss. I've been stagnating a bit over the last week anyway, this is just going to make it worse. The only real lesson to be taken from it is that every so often I need to make sure I think about what I'm shooting for.
Food today: peanut butter and english muffin (300 calories), PB&J (500 calories), some peanut butter on toast as a snack (200 calories), burgers and fries from Wendy's for dinner (2000 calories). Exercise was about 3 miles of running and 2 miles of walking (600 calories).

Day 52 - The New Routine
So I continue to be hopeful that I'm settling into a new routine. Losing weight is always hard, but it's easiest in the early days of a diet when you break the old routines (which made you gain weight in the first place) and your body responds by dropping some of those pounds. The problem with keeping the weight off is that a specialty diet of one sort or another (Atkin's, meatless, fatless, or whatever) is usually just a change and therefore not something that really sticks as a permanent new routine. Over the last few weeks though m exercise plan has really started settling in. I have people to run with on some days of the week and the gym on others. My diet isn't particularly varied or creative but it does generally keep the total quantity of food I eat down. I've also largely avoided eating out, though not as much as I might like.
I've been here before though and it hasn't stuck. One thing going for me though is that for a change my exercise plan isn't tied to a specific event. I am training up for another half-marathon, but I'm shooting for three this year. There might be a bit of a rest after I run the next one (and I might treat myself to 5 Guys), but I'm going to be right back to training. The last few years, hitting the half meant giving up running until it was time for the next one. Hopefully this time I'll have a routine that I get right back to. I don't love running the way some friends do, but I do like it quite a bit. I would like to keep doing it.
Food today: egg and cheese (300 calories), turkey sandwich (500 calories), a mini-kit kat bar and some peanut butter (200 calories) and some lasanga and garlic toast (1000 calories). Exercise was the lunchtime walk (100 calories) and 40 minutes of outdoor running (700 calories).

Day 51 - Good Day After Bad
So despite Easter having a dangerously high amount of sugary foods I'm back on track today. Yesterday wasn't really all that bad, but it did have the possibility of breaking a few of the portions of my current program. Fortunately I was able to avoid sliding too much. It helped that there wasn't much new candy at work today though. Work was also a little weird as I did ancillary tasks all day, but they helped keep me focused on other thoughts rather than when my next meal was going to be. Still on the diet, and still caffeine and soda free so I'm not going to complain.
Food today: egg and cheese for breakfast (300 calories), turkey sandwich for lunch (500 calories), dinner was lasagna and garlic toast again (1000 calories), and snacks included a mini-snickers and some peanut butter today (250 calories). Exercise was a lunch time walk and then an hour back on the treadmill (1266 calories).
