One thing I have noticed since the diet began is that I tend to eat when I'm bored. Even more I get hungry when I'm bored. If I've got an interesting case at work, or a fun game to play at home, or even just a good book to read, I can go hours without noticing that I'm hungry. In some instances I've gone a whole Saturday without thinking about food.
However, give me a boring case, or a repetitive task and then all bets are off. Yesterday I got hungry by 9:30, then ate my lunch by 10:30. Today, I was actually surprised when lunch actually rolled around. I hadn't even thought about food until then. There was no real difference between my two breakfasts, but just by having something else to turn my attention to, I didn't get hungry. It may not help me control my diet, after all I can't force myself to have fun, but it does point to a challenge I have to remember in the future.
Food today: egg and cheese sandwich with milk (300 calories), turkey sandwich (500 calories), pasta, sauce and garlic toast (900 calories). Snack was a fiber bar and some peanuts (150 calories). Yes this is a boring diet, and yeah there are a thousand great recipes out there to try, but I like it and it's easy so I'm sticking by it. Exercise was a lunch time walk (100 calories).
