Day 44

Just another routine day.  The only real update to my usual plan was that I tried some peanuts as a snack today.  I had a little over half a cup of peanuts still in the shell (about 150 calories worth).  I'm not completely convinced that they're as effective as some of the other snacks I've had but they seemed to work well enough for the day.  The combination of lunch and snacks kept me from getting hungry until after 6 pm.

Peanuts were recommended in a few places as a diet snack, as they have protein and also since when they're still in the shell they require a little more effort to eat.  About the only real weakness I see is that there's a surprisingly high amount of calories in a relatively small amount of peanuts.  Had I not been thinking about the diet I could easily have doubled, or tripled the volume of peanuts I ate today.

Food today:  egg and cheese sandwich with milk (300 calories), turkey sandwich (500 calories), peanuts (150 calories) and pork loin with noodles and green beans (900 calories).  Exercise was the walk around downtown (100 calories).
