Day 42

Another fairly straightforward day.  I don't miss working at UPS for most things, but I do find myself missing the freedom that all that physical labor gave me for what I ate.  Had I been smart at the time, I would have started dieting back then.  Instead I ate like a pig, but mostly didn't have to worry about getting too much more than chubby.

My last job literally leashed me to a desk (to answer customer service and sales calls).  My current job involves sitting and reading reports all day.  Neither of them was conducive to avoiding putting on pounds, and now I'm paying the price for my previous inattention.  It can be difficult on some days not run down to the cafeteria for chips, or candy, but that's the path to putting the pounds back on.  I've made that comment before, and you'll probably hear it many more times before I reach my goal, no one has a magical "fat-proof" metabolism, but sometimes I wish mine burned a little bit hotter.

Food today:  egg and cheese sandwich with milk (300 calories), turkey sandwich (500 calories) and an apple (100 calories).  Dinner was out with my sister at a seafood place.  Beer battered fish and chips which I'm guessing totaled around 1400 calories.  It might be less than that (particularly since my sister took some of the food herself), but it doesn't hurt to guess high in this case.
