So one month is now in the books. I crossed the 40K mark today so tomorrow will be the next formal weigh in and we can see where I stand. I'll probably weigh myself both tomorrow and on Monday to see what the day-to-day shift looks like. As scary as it seems, I'm already one fifth of the way to my goal. At this rate I would complete the challenge in 5 months rather than 9.
That's probably not going to happen though. I've been good all month and haven't cheated as yet. In addition we've got Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and my birthday coming up. I'm sure on at least one of those days I'll probably go overboard, and might even get some negative points. I'm not worried about that though. This project has already started to change my behavior in some ways. With any luck those changes will stick. I'm not trying to be thin, that will probably never happen, but it would be nice not to feel "fat."
For today I was pretty light on food until the end of the day. I had a breakfast sandwich in the morning (300 calories). I was getting coffee with someone in the afternoon, so initially didn't get lunch, then didn't get any food at coffee. Instead my afternoon "meal" became snacks, with half a snickers bar (150 calories), and some whole wheat chips (150 calories). We made homemade pizza for dinner (600 calories), and while waiting for the train I cheated a little bit and got a large fry from McDonald's (500 calories).
For exercise I walked for about an hour in downtown Boston (I'm going to be stingy and call that 200 calories).
