Day 30

Wow, 30 days into the diet and I haven't actually cheated yet.  The combination of the long term goal, prize at the end, and needing to post to the blog here about what I'm doing has kept me surprisingly on track.  On most diets by this point I would have already broken down and gone to pig out somewhere.

That's not to say I haven't thought about what I'm going to do when the time comes to cheat.  A Five Guy's trip, or a Pizza Hut lunch buffet trip are old standby's for going a little nuts.  Thanksgiving's coming up, so maybe I'll go a little nuts on desserts.  Maybe a brunch or something like that (family friends have a big one around Christmas).

What's been weird, is that despite all of these plans I haven't wanted to go out.  Even last night with my mother I really hesitated to agree that going out would be something I wanted to do.  While I still get cravings, I haven't responded to them.  Even more, before the diet if I got hungry towards the end of the work day I'd fixate on going out to dinner.  Now I might skip the gym, but I'm going home to make a reasonable meal.  It's not as much fun sometimes, but if this becomes a habit I might come out of this diet with a generally healthier lifestyle.  And who wants that?

Food today:  breakfast sandwich again (I really like them, now that I've figured out I have time to cook in the morning) for 300 calories.  Lunch was a turkey sandwich for 500 calories.  For snacks I had a cup of diced pears and two tiny Toblerone bars for a total of 150 calories.  Dinner was penne with sauce and garlic toast (mostly accidental as I started boiling the wrong type of pasta, and made too much for a side because of it) at 1000 calories.  I went 3 miles on the treadmill for 503 calories, and a walk at lunch for 100 calories.

Today's Results:
Daily Food Total:  1950 calories
Exercise:  603
Points Earned:  1653
Total Points Earned:  39323
Points to go:  160677
